CANCER SCREENING IN CANADA

CancerScreening.CA connects eligible patients in British Columbia, and soon Canada, to screening tests for breast cancer, colon cancer, and lung cancer, covered through MSP. The earliest possible detection of these cancers has been proven to reduce their chance of causing disability or death.

ABOUT
CANCER SCREENING

Screening for Cancer May Save Your Life

Cancer screening tests aim to find cancer before it causes symptoms and when it may be easier to treat successfully. An effective screening test is one that:

  • finds cancer early

  • reduces the chance that someone who is screened regularly will die from the cancer

  • has more potential benefits than harms

OUR VISION

CancerScreening.CA is a leading online and telehealth medical service dedicated to improving access to cancer screening services for patients. Its founders have a combined experience of over 25 years in community, hospital, emergency, and general practice oncology medicine. By leveraging an easy to navigate health care experience and a team of licensed healthcare professionals, CancerScreening.CA provides convenient and high-quality access to specific healthcare services that meet the needs of patients throughout BC.

CancerScreening.CA founders, staff, and members are passionate advocates for public healthcare and strongly believe in accessibility, equity, and universal coverage. Its founders have never worked in privatized healthcare settings. CancerScreening.CA believes so strongly in the principle of accessibility that no Canadian Citizen would be personally charged for cancer screening assessments, follow-up, etc., including those without medical services plan coverage.

Doctor and Patient

HOW IT WORKS

From the comfort of their homes, patients can now access information on cancer screening and easily book a virtual appointment with a licensed healthcare professional, who will assess their eligibility and guide them through the screening guidelines and process. The network of CancerScreening.CA nurses and physicians will provide support, advice, screening test requisitions, test results interpretation, consultation referrals, schedule follow-ups, and future reminders - all to improve early detection rates and reduce barriers to healthcare access.

The service is covered by the BC Medical Services plan and is available to everyone in BC, regardless of whether they have a family physician or not.

colorectal cancer screening

Colorectal Cancer Screening

Screening can save lives by detecting non-cancerous polyps and cancer early. If colon cancer is detected at its earliest stage, the chance of survival is more than 90 per cent.

lung cancer screening

Lung Cancer Screening

Lung cancer is one of the most diagnosed cancers, and a leading cause of cancer death. Early detection through screening can help find cancer in its early stages, when treatment is more successful.
